The Artist

The Artist has power to heal,

to end all things, change history,

evoke both best and worst, indeed

define illusion and what’s real,

tell of the joys of love and life

or tragic tales filled with regret,

write winsome words none can forget,

convey the pain of sad soul’s strife,

lift up the heart to face all things,

lament of loss one can’t let go

or bring the best out of worst woe

and lift all touched with angel’s wings.

And last, Artist can arrange a

murder with darkest of intent,

or, if it pleases, change the bent

of those inclined to evil way.
